We have been hosting this hugely popular fireworks event for fourteen years, expanding it to six spectacular world class displays each summer.

In fact, the company we work closely with is a repeat winner in international competition, and it shows in our events.

This year promises to be even better, as Fireworks Spectaculars has made special arrangements for some unique effects unlike any other shows in Canada.

July 1, Canada Day, Campbell River
July 24, Marine Festival Bathtub Days, Nanaimo
Aug. 2 (BC Day), Comox Nautical Days, Comox
Aug. 20, Blackberry Festival, Powell River
Aug. 21, QF Summer of Fun, Parksville
Sept. 3, Salmon Festival, Port Alberni.

The Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition & Exhibition has new dates for 2010. In previous years, the event began of August, so organizers want to ensure the word is out that it is earlier this year.

Sculptors begin their creations on Friday July 16, with completion and judging on Sunday July 18. Exhibitions will be open daily until August 15.

"We are thrilled to step our involvement with the Parksville Beach Festival Society again this year," says Guy Sigouin of Quality Foods in Parksville. "Being the title sponsor of this world-class event for 2010 is one more way we can show our support for our community, residents and visitors to the area."

Additionally, this year the competition ia a qualifying event for the World Championships to be held at Federal Way, Washington.
